Former Hawkeye Weekend Wrapup

This is the second of our weekly series in which Hawkeye Locator recaps the weekend and lets fans know how the former Hawkeye’s performed for their current squads.

* Clinton Solomon had a big day for the Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League, catching six passes for 83 yards and four touchdowns. The former Hawkeye’s strong performance helped guide Wichita to its first win of the season.

* Former Iowa quarterback Brad Banks completed 26-of-41 passes for 271 yards and seven touchdowns for the AFL’s Iowa Barnstormers, but Banks’ squad came up short, losing 50-49 to the Chicago Rush.

* Barnstormers teammate and former Iowa fullback Rodney Filer ran for 21 yards and also had a 5-yard reception in the Barnstormers’ loss.
