Reggie Evans has Season-Best Performance in Loss to CavsPosted: April 7, 2011
Toronto Raptors forward Reggie Evans got his first start since Nov. 26 on Wednesday against
Cleveland, and he didn’t disappoint.
The way the former Hawkeye performed, there will likely be plenty more opportunities for playing time.
Evans recorded his second double-double of the season, scoring a season-high 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in the Raptors 104-96 loss to the lowly Cavaliers.
The former Iowa standout and eight-year NBA veteran began playing again on March 9 after being sidelined for more than three months recovering from foot surgery.
Despite his recent success, Toronto continues to struggle. The Raptors (21-57) have managed only one victory in their last nine games and sit in last place in the Atlantic Division.
Evans — one of only four Hawkeyes to ever reach 1,000 points in just two season — is averaging 4.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game this season.
